The last sea day of this stretch looked very much like every other.
9:30 Presentation: “The CIA Museum You Can’t Visit”
11:00 Lecture
This was an excellent overview of dragons. Russell Lee is an exciting and engaging speaker. He reviewed the multiple views of dragons from different cultures around the world and offered several of the theories of why dragons appear in so many unrelated cultures.
After lunch we hung out until the Cabo San Lucas Port Talk at 4:30.
By the way, here’s a sample of what we didn’t do (the kinds of things that go on during a sea day):
- 10:00 Bridge for Beginners
- 10:00 Writing Workshop: Daily Journaling
- 10:00 – 12:00 Wildlife Watch with Robin Petch
- 10:30 Baggo Tournament
- 11:00 Bridge for Intermediate Players
- 12:15 Team Trivia
- 2:00 Writing Workshop: Daily Journaling
- 2:00 Red Wine Tasting
- 2:30 Shuffleboard Tournament
- 3:00 Publication Round Table
- 3:00 Line dance Class
- 4:00 Office Hours with Resident Historian Michael Fuller
- 4:00 Afternoon Tea
- 5:00 – 11:00 Various musicians and musical groups playing at different places/times around the ship
The port talk was…a port talk. Nothing to see there. Except when the Excursions Manager announced that the ATV excursion requirements included…”no one over age 70″. The audience generally regarded that as an insult.
The 6:30 lecture
Dinner was ‘Mexican Night’ – as usual the many varied selections were great but their guac didn’t compare to daughter Kim’s offering.
Bruce’s Brain Busters, however, didn’t disappoint. He continues to bust our brains. We scored 10 out of 19 – middle of the pack.
Finally we couldn’t resist – the evening show was ‘The Marriage Game’. We, of course, didn’t volunteer but we cheered on the 4 brave couples who did.
Then it was back to the cabin to prep our snorkel gear and pack our day bags for tomorrow’s adventure.
And sleep.
Nite all, R
On The Marriage Game one of the couples had been married over 50 years – they are from India and had an arranged marriage!
