No photos today. We just powered thru to the end.
Actually, one of us powered thru. Cheryl had breakfast and went back to bed. It seems that her histamine finally couldn’t keep up with the pollen count and she woke up miserable. She joined us for lunch, then back to bed (although, when I got back to the room there were signs that she had spend at least a little time reading on our porch (book title “Digital Customer Service”. WOW, she must have been desperate!)). Anyway, when I got back this afternoon she sent me on a run for Kleenex and Ricola. She seems a bit better, though pretty out of it (something she blames on the extra strength Musinex). She managed to eat a bit of supper (and some chocolate – a sign of improvement). We’ll see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully they’ll let us onto the airplane. And hopefully she can sleep on the red-eye to Denver.
That said, here’s the scintillating schedule for today:
07:00 Breakfast
08:30 Bank Merger Activity in the Age of Convergence
09:30 Refreshment break
10:00 Banks Plus Bitcoin: A look at Essential Regulatory Considerations
11:15 Legislative Update (turns out this was focused on California banks)
12:15 Lunch (Cheryl joined us)
13:30 Close encounters of the Fintech Kind
14:30 Refreshment Break
14:45 Litigation Trends in Retail Banking Operations
16:00 – Closing General Session – Overcoming Adversity: Prevailing Through Challenges
Following that session everyone else retired to the happy hour and Farewell Dinner. I returned to the room to minister to my sick wife.
Tomorrow we sleep in and see what the day brings. Check-out time is 11:00. We don’t plan to vacate before then. Our plane leaves at 7:40 PM local time and arrives in Denver at 6:28 AM Local time on Thursday. We have a 5 hour layover in Denver (luckily we have passes to the United Club Lounge) and should be home in our beds by 2:00 PM (10:00 AM Hawaii time) Thursday.
Wish us luck.
Aloha, R
